On a side note- I am glad Sandra Bullock won Best Actress for The Blindside- she's an amazing actress and that story was very inspiring- Hey Vanessa Williams you DON'T speak for the black community.. oh, and before I forget- where's your Oscar??? Follow this link to see what I am referring to!

Whew! Now that I made my point there- here is the real reason for this post! I thoroughly studied the fashions at the Oscars and I have narrowed down my Top 3 Best Dressed and my Top 3 What The Hell Were You Thinking?!?!
Sandra Bullock in Marchesa
I love this dress because it beautifully silhouettes Sandy's (as her friends in the biz like to call her) body. The color of the dress is simply gorgeous and the detail is so intricate- especially on the sleeves. I love that she left her hair down and chose a red lipstick! A simple pair of earrings and a tennis bracelet were the perfect accessories!
Zoe Saldana in Givenchy- What the hell were you thinking?!
Okay- I LOVE Givenchy and I love the concept of the dress. However, this is so NOT an Oscar worthy dress. Just because you saw it on the runway, does not mean you should wear it in public. I'm not sure if she's going to do the Tango on Dancing With The Stars or if she is starting her own dust busting business! Again, I love the concept but I think the bottom half could have been toned down a little bit. A plus about this- I actually like the detail on the top half and her hair was perfect.
Miley Cyrus in Jenny Packham
I already love Miley to begin with- but this dress definitely increased that love! She looks Gorgeous in this Jenny Packham gown! Very grown up and very sophisticated. I will say that I wish she wasn't slouching, I saw her on some after party coverage and she was standing tall and looked absolutely stunning. The only problem I have with this dress is the top half. Miley has a great body but is very curvaceous up top and I feel like she could have used a little more support. Loved her hair and make-up... good job Miley!
Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab Haute Couture- What the hell were you thinking?!
Oh Rachel... I love you so much, but WHY? Okay, I do not think this dress is an absolute fail. I actually really like it! I just feel like it was not appropriate for the Oscars. Maybe the People's Choice Awards- or maybe even the Golden Globes. But definitely not the Oscars! The dress flows nicely but it's way too casual. The mix of colors looks great on her and this probably would have made my best dressed list had it not been the Oscars. I appreciate her going for a different look, much like Maggie Gyllenhaal (who looked FABULOUS but not Oscar ready), but really should have went with a different dress.
Jennifer Lopez in Armani Prive'
Love, Love, Love, Love, LOVE. Did I mention I LOVE this dress??! Jennifer Lopez was not the only diva on the red carpet that went for a more architectural look. However, she is the ONLY one who nailed it! Amanda Seyfried was also in Armani Prive' but took too large of a risk in her dress. It's like the dress was designed for Jennifer's body. It silhouettes her curves perfectly. The gathered material is just enough that it doesn't completely take over the dress. She is definitely the definition of Glam at the Oscars this year!
AND.... Saving the worst for last......................
Carey Mulligan in Prada- What the hell were you thinking?!
I don't even know where to begin with this dress. Shia LaBouf.. I'm gonna need you to rethink this situation! Alright, Carey Mulligan is a cute girl. She's petite, she does that whole, "I've got my pixie hair cut so I'm edgy", thing. But come on... Who styled you?! Let's start with the top and work our way down. Carey, the blonde hair looks good on you- but it makes you look like you are 12!! I prefer the brunette, more mature-looking you! The earrings DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT go with your dress! I know chandelier earrings are so, "Omg, I got asked to prom!", but hun- this is the Oscars- the big leagues! The dress... oh the dress. The sweetheart neckline is ALL I like. The black is too harsh on her with the blonde hair. Her skin is so fair.. it all makes her look ill. The detailing is HORRID!!
Aside from the beading, there are little scissors and what-nots sown into the dress.. Calling Edward Scissor hands- I think we've found your bride! The hem and the cut on the dress are not flattering at all. It looks like this was supposed to be a full-length gown, and she had it altered. The shoes are very Carey. She tends to wear these strappy, "I bought them at JcPenny", shoes. All in all, I don't like this look.
So basically, there were a ton of great looks at this years Oscars from the men and the women. Unfortunately, or fortunately (so I have something to write about!) there were a very large, Shaq-sized handful of misses! I can't hate too much, I could never afford any of these dresses. But honestly, if I had THAT much money, I would really take some cues from the stars who constantly get it right and stop trying to be different, a la' Bjork and her Swan @ the 2001 Oscars

My least favorite was Zoe! Its such a shame, she is so beautiful! I really like your blog. Im following you now!
I agree- I adored Miley and JLo's dresses. They are so gorgeous. It surprises sometimes how Miley goes from being and acting like a 16 year old kid to looking and behaving like shes way over twenty years old. I used to not be too fond of her but I really think she has grown up a lot and she impresses me with her style and sophistication. Sorry for the long comment about nothing, Just felt like commented lol.
I do love your blog though! It's super cute and I love your posts! Can't wait to see more! :)
